(Published: 04.02.2012 20:29h):GameStop's Retro Game Vault is ridiculously stupid
Hey, guys! Remember when GameStop used to sell legacy games and hardware? Atari, Genesis, you name it. Those were the days, before the company began swallowing up the competition and ditched the retro wares in favor of almost exclusively cramming used copies of week-old releases down your throat. Wouldn't you like to go back to those simpler days? Fat chance. GameStop has added the Retro Game Vault to its PowerUp Rewards program, giving you the option to use points accrued through in-store purchases towards titles from the SNES, Dreamcast, PlayStation, NES, and more. When you think about it, it's quite ... [Link] [Cache]

When Dragon’s Lair was released in 1983 it immediately set arcades alight thanks to its amazing cartoon graphics. Drawn by legendary artist Don Bluth, Dragon’s Lair was unlike any other game of its time, and has gone on to build a massive fan base over the intervening 29 years. A new video on Youtube has revealed that a brand new documentary is being released, no doubt to celebrate Dragon’s Lair’s 30th birthday next year. The video itself doesn’t reveal too much, other than fascinating sketches into Dragon’s Lair’s development, and a few snatches of commentary from Don Bluth. Despite this ... [Link] [Cache]

"–Mega Man X3 is a game that most would consider to be the first in the series in which Zero became playable. Unfortunately he was cut to be a very minor character with him being barely playable for more than 20 seconds per level. This project aimed to incorporate Zero as a major character and also allow full use of him. Now many of Zero’s attributes consist of: Use of sub-weapons, gathering energy tanks, use of Ride Armors, charging weapons, use of capsules and much more! With this group effort of two different communities chipping in the fully playable “Zero ... [Link] [Cache]

This had a more sentimental value than value on its own. This is by far my favorite Final Fantasy game period. It's mainly because it's one of the more odd Final Fantasy games ever released. The first time I played this game was via-emulation and the discovery of such an unheard of game was incredible. I was shocked that it had been released so I played it to the very end. It was a pretty big deal especially since I played it back in 1998. Top honors to one unforgettable fantasy! [Link] [Cache]
